Burial Mounds at Cumberland River, Nashville, Tennessee lose to the Tennessee Oilers
This Tennessee AIM Chapter Support Group site still has information on the fight to preserve burial mounds along the Cumberland River from being disturbed by the 1997 construction of the new Tennessee Oilers Stadium.
UPDATE/REQUESTED ACTION: TN AIM writes, 2001 8 February, "The Titans are playing there now. A boycott of pro football is still being called as well as the Titans."
Burial Sites at Davidson County, Nashville Tennessee lose to Wal-Mart
Dickshovel.com carries an account of the fruitless battle to prevent the construction of a Wal-Mart/Lowe's super center on Charlotte Pike in the West Meade neighborhood of Davidson County, Nashville, Tennessee. The construction plans required the destruction of a prehistoric Native American cemetery dating to the Mississippian cultural period and Civil War fortifications. The Wal-Mart store held its grand opening 1999 28 August.

REQUESTED ACTION: There are petitions at the Dickshovel web site it is requested one sign. Also, a boycott is being called for Wal-Mart and certain associates of Wal-Mart.
