The Issue
This TN AIM web page reports that, "A subdivision is being proposed that would be called "River Landing" and is proposed for an area of the Grassland community of Williamson County Tennessee. It is 248 acres, and lies in a bend in the Harpeth River, north of Franklin, and below Cottonwood Estates. This property has NUMEROUS problems from wetlands to sink holes, sewage to traffic and significant Native American sites. However Nick Fielder, Tennessee state archaeologist, has been quoted as saying, 'Since this is private land then no consideration of environmental issues is legally required." Burial sites have been located on the property.
