The Issue

Little Salt Spring is an active status site where archaeologists from the University of Miami are excavating. As most school work is done in the summer it's expected this issue will go critical again very soon.

Little Salt Spring Press Release FL AIM, approx. 2000 June 15
Subject: FLORIDA AIM DEMANDS GHOULS HALT EFFORTS IN LITTLE SALT SPRINGS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The American Indian Movement of Florida (Florida AIM) has demanded that the University of Miami(FL) Ghoul department aka Anthropology Department halt its efforts to desecrate the cemetary of Timucuan peoples now located under the waters of a sink hole in Little Salt Springs.

University of Miami degreed grave robber aka Anthropologist John Gifford is reported to be excited to learn that the Indigenous peoples can be shown to be in Florida for "at least 12,000 years if we get to those bodies." If these ghouls and grave robbers would respectfully listen to traditional Seminoles they might learn Indigenous peoples have been here for at least 40,000 years without having to loot a single Indigenous cemetary.

In 1985 Florida AIM failed in attempting to obtain the repatriation of 500 Ais peoples desecrated from Windover Farms in Titusville, FL we have since protected 156 Indigenous cemetaries or forced repatriations.

We retain a zero tolerance policy with these ghouls and illegal and legal grave robbers who desecrate Indigenous burial sites with impunity in Florida.

We have advised the University of Miami that the respectful course of action would be to respect the Indigenous cemetary at Little Salt Springs and leave it alone. They continue their ghoulish acts and their own risk. Florida AIM will take swift, decisive and responsive action to protect Indigenous burial sites in the state of Florida.
