The Issue
Hines or Doublehead Cave was used for over 2000 years by indigenous peoples. It's a sacred site that has been the target of looting "and 'scientific' studies." On private property, the owner recently bulldozed the entrance. SEAL writes that in Kentucky it's a class D felony to disturb a native burial, and that desecrating a cave is also illegal.
